Art journal page - (Everything you dream of) it is this way

"(Everything you dream of) it is this way" -  double page from small Moleskine journal (cca 21 x 26 cm / 8" x 10").

Firstly I stamped the sign stamp with white Distress paint all over the page and let it dry. Then I used Distress ink pads and mixed Worn Lipstick, Seedless preserve and Mermaid lagoon with blending tool. It is easy and smooth background with some splotches of water, although I need to say, that my Moleskine journal paper does not react with water so nicely as other papers I use e.g. Dylusions cardstock, because it lifts too much color of the page and can damage the paper. So I dried carefully all the page with a paper towel and heat tool and covered the splotches with another layer of the same distress inks. Then they are still lighter than original color, but nicely blended in the rest of the background.

I used dies with ordinary black cardstock to cut out the greenery (Kaisercraft) and birds (Tim Holtz) and  Moleskine journal paper for the moon with stars (Tim Holtz).  An arrow was just drew on the black cardstock and cut out with scissors.
Stars and moon were then dabbed with white paint and salty ocean Distress ink and around the edges I used black marker, so they stand out more. Finally there is a layer of clear Wink of stella on them for a gentle shimmer, which is unfortunately not visible on the picture. I used it also on the edges of the birds and greenery, just as a touch of "starry and moon light" :0)

I wanted the stars to be more dimensional, so I used a ball point tool on the back sides to curve them a little bit and in the middle I put a bigger blob of 3D heavy matte gel from Prima. It is a strong glue, dries in the shape and keep them dimensional. It's very nice feeling when you touch the page :0)
For a sign I used black archival ink and the same stamp as in the background, for a quote I the tiny letter stickers from Prima and for the white details a Sakura gel pen.

And it's all for today. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time :0)
