Alcohol inks journal - Mermaid lagoon

Hi and welcome :0). Today I played again in my DIY disc bound 8"x 8" (ca. 20x20 cm) journal.

I wanted to use another of my older alcohol inks background on Yupo. Because real colours of this page are different shades of teal, sea topic was quite obvious to me. For the scene I coloured big mermaid with Luminarte Twinkling H2O watercolors, but my camera does not pick the shine and the colours correctly. Unfortunately - it looks so beautiful in real life. Anyway I enjoyed to create this page - although a little bit out of my comfort zone again :0)

Thank you for your visit and have a very nice day :0)

Art journal page - Beautiful 4

Hi and welcome back :0). Today it is a new art journal page from my 7.5"x7.5" (ca. 20x20 cm) journal.

Inspired by this Tim Holtz's Simon Says Stamp Stamptember exclusive stamps set and My Favorite Things Beautiful die. Simple play with Halloween colours - carved Ppumpkin, wilted violet, peeled paint and black soot. Some Tim Holtz's stencils for the background and here it is. The most difficult thing was to find similar alcohol ink markers :0)

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Alcohol inks journal - Simple beauty

Hi and welcome once more :0). This is a second die cutted layout in my DIY disc bound alcohol inks 8"x 8" (ca. 20x20 cm) journal.

I wanted to use my left overs from yesterday's alcohol inks journal project. This time in a more simple way which is a little bit more my cup of tea :0) Again same background papers, one die from Elizabeth craft desings, no stamps and black glaze gel pen.

Thank you again for your visit and see you next time :0)

Alcohol inks journal - Just create and be happy

Hi and welcome :0). Today I would like to share an another layout in my DIY disc bound alcohol inks 8"x 8" (ca. 20x20 cm) journal.

This time I went out of my comfort zone. I decided to use just dies on one of my alcohol inked and foiled backgrounds I made earlier on Yupo paper, no stamps allowed :0) This was very challenging. The background papers with alcohol inks are so bright and nice that it is easy to make them and difficult to use them in combination with something else :D
Anyway this is my first attempt with orange/yellow and green papers (in the real life all colours are much much brighter). A birds die is from Elizabeth craft designs, stars from Altenew, asian sign from Tattered Lace and circle with clouds from Hero arts.

So that's it for today, thank you a lot for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Simple pleasures of summer

Hi and thank you for your visit again :0). Today it is a new art journal page from my Seawhite hardbound 7.5"x7.5" (ca. 20x20 cm) journal.

Just a memory of how happy I was a few days ago to ride my bike again after a really long time :0)

I used Distress Oxide ink pads for this quite thin ordinary paper and I have to admit that these inks worked amazingly. An application was much easier and smoother than with Distress ink pads I used in this journal for my previous projects, because this paper is very porous and absorbs dye inks too quickly. I just regret that these Oxide colours are less vibrant than their namesakes in the classic Distress inks line - Mustard seed, Spun sugar, Twisted citron and Salty ocean.  Frames from Tim Holtz Woodgrain cardstock are coloured with Vintage photo and Black soot Distress ink pads. Focal picture is from Katzelkraft. I added some embossing (Tattered Lace) and simple stenciling for water and sun rays impression and that's it :0)

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Hocus pocus

Hi and welcome back :0) It's been a looooong time since my last art post and I am very happy that I have a new  journal page in my Canson Mix Media middle art book - 17 x 25 cm (cca 6.5" x 10")

I just started with a simple background - combination of Distress ink pads and Distress Oxide ink pads in blue and brown shades. I added some stenciling on the edges and a then applied Finnabair's soft matte gel through a tea themed stencil from Paper Artsy all around the page. I love this feel-dimension and second photo shows  great shadows of this raised texture :0)

Used stamps are from Visible image and Impression Obsession, coloured with alcohol markers and for the quote I used Halloween chips from Tim Holtz and some washi tape from my stash.

Thank you for your visit and hopefully see you soon again :0)
