Art journal page - It's raining men

Hi and welcome back :0) Today I have a big 11"x 12"  (ca. 28 x 30 cm) art journal page for SimonSaysStamps Wednesday challenge "Anything goes".

I planned this page for a previous challenge, but I did not find enough time for it and I'm very happy that I have another chance to use this idea I like so much :0)

For a long time I wanted to use this Umbrella man die from Tim Holtz and finally this dream came through. I was inspired by the words of one famous song and here it is :0)

For the background I use a piece of my old jeans and applied black-blue irridescent acrylic paint through an Altenew Thunderstorm stencil on it. For the focal points I utilized some of my very old DCWV patterned papers and hand-drawn the umbrella. I found a very nice alphabet die in my stash and also covered all hearts with a Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal glaze, so they are shiny and more dimensional.
I need to say that when I finally started with this project it was so easy going one. At the end I spent most of the time by rearranging a pleasant rainbow order of my men :D (second picture shows the page shining in the sunlight).

Thank you for your visit and please leave me a comment if you like :0)

Have a very nice - sunny, if possible - spring day and see you soon :0)

Art journal page - Discover LIGHT

Hi and welcome back again :0) Today's page has 10x6.5 inches (cca 25,5x17 cm).

Whole idea for my today's work were the night butterflies discovering the colours of the rainbow :0) And yes, I know that the moths are not so bright ,0)

I created grean background with my Distress inks and than stamped a Stampendous  woodgrain stamp - I used VersaFine Clair Shady Lane ink pad - over it. I cut the stripes and framed them with my green alcohol marker and Shady Lane ink applied with a blending tool. I black embossed Kaisercraft's awesome lanterns and coloured them with Ecoline Brush Pens (they are basically liquid watercolour pens) so I can created a light effect in the lanterns. I put the transparen butterflies stikers on the white paper, fussy-cut them, shaped them a little bit and glued them on the possitions. Finally I cut out the letters L I G H T - twice from the black cardstock, once from the white - I colored the white ones with the same colours as my lanterns.

I like this page a lot and if you do too, please let me know :0)

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Best tea

Hi and welcome :0) Today's page has 8x8 inches (cca 20x20 cm).

I used one of the green-blue color backgrounds I made recently with Distress Spray Stains. I added some stenciling with water (lifting technique) and an another layer with Distress inks. My focal points are stamps from Visible image colored with the alcohol markers and some washi tapes from my stash. For the dots on the hat I used copic opaque white paint, so they stay white (marks with a gel pen always take on the colours of the background).

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Charming, timeless and free

Hi and welcome :0). This is an another 6.5"x 6.5"  (ca. 16,5 x 16,5 cm) art journal page.

Last time I created two yellow-orange backgrounds with Distress stain sprays at once, so I wanted to use the second one in some different way than the previous.

I covered parts of the background with a copper metal texture paste through dotted stencil and teared numerous stripes from it. Then I found a nice Tattered Lace text embossing folder as my first layer and I glued four of the stripes on it. I used older koi stamps and a girl stamp from Pink ink designs. I colored everything with my PITT artist brush pens and white Prismacolor premier colored pencil. For the details and hair of the girl I used also Arteza white gel pen and a black acrylic paint pen. Finally I choosed my quotes from Tim Holtz Big chat stickers.

I think I fulfilled my goal - this page is totally different than the last one :D

Thank you again for your visit and have a nice spring day :0)

Art journal page - Life is a mystery

Hi and welcome :0). This is my new 6.5"x 6.5"  (ca. 16,5 x 16,5 cm) art journal page.

I played with some Distress stain sprays, stencil water lifting technique, older text stamp and another stencil,  stamps and washi tape from AALL & Create. For my focal point I found a great zebra stamp from my stash. I used Prismacolor premier colored pencils - white, red and blue - to enhanced my seahorses and also to color my focal image. Finally I die-cuted some tiny letters for the quote.

I am very pleased with a final outcome, I really surprised myself :D

Thank you for your visit and have a nice day :0)
