Art journal page - Everything you can imagine

Hi and welcome :0) This is a page from my smaller 6"x8" (cca 15x20 cm) art journal from Hahnemühle.

This pate is an entry for Stencil Fun blog September challenge.

I created a background with water and more layers of Lindy's magical shakers Lizzy's Cuppa Tea Teal and Spill the Tea Teal.  I added stenciling with Dylusions small Suits You Sir stencil and Salvaged Patina and Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxides and finished the background with 49 and Market and Tim Holtz rub-ons and a quote.  As my focal point I used another image from Etsy :0)

Thank you for your visit, feel free to leave me a comment and have a very nice "still summer" weekend :0)

Art journal page - Faraway adventure

Hi and welcome :0) This page is again from Canson Mix Media middle art book - 17 x 25 cm (cca 6.5" x 10") and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge Transport it.

I started with a background sprayed with Mustard seed and Rusty hinge distress Spray Stains. I created my own background patterned paper with some stamps with an ocean theme stamped in different directions with Kaleidacolor Cappucciono delight dye ink - it is a rainbow inkpad with very nice matching colours. I embossed the whole background with wood grain stencil and used a brayer with Rusty hinge and Ground espresso inks to make the pattern more visible. The final result reminds me water waves :0). As my focal point I made a collage of few images I found recently on Etsy and I really love the outcome :0)

Thank you for your visit, feel free to leave me a comment and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Do anything

Hi and welcome back :0) Today's page is another one in Canson Mix Media middle art book - 17 x 25 cm (cca 6.5" x 10").

I sprayed blue and green Distress Spray stains on my background and added blue Distress Oxide ink through the puzzle stencil. I framed the pattern with a light blue acrylic pen. I stenciled a world map, coloured it with shades of brown and yellow and framed with black acrylic pen. Than I added some text with the stencil and Hero Arts white pigment ink and highlighted the words with brown and white acrylic markers. Finally I glued my focal image coloured with Ohuhu water-based markers and black acrylic pen.

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - We are all mad here

Hi and welcome :0) Today's page is in Canson Mix Media middle art book - 17 x 25 cm (cca 6.5" x 10"). And it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Anything goes.

I started with a sun rays stencil and two shades of blue Distress ink - Tumbled glass and Salty ocean. With a Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide stamped a bigger background stamp over it and added white pigment ink through coffee beans stencil over the lighter stripes. And I did not like the outcome. So I sprayed Black marble Dylusions spray over everything and a miracle happened. Oxide and pigment ink partially resisted the dye spray and the page looked much better :0).

Than I stamped with Versamark through a Visible image's hat stencil and added Ranger's Perfect pearls and a mist of water. I stamped Visible image's stamps from Alice in Wonderland collection and coloured them with water-based markers. Finally I framed all with black and white acrylic markers and added my quote from Tim Holtz's Snarky chat.

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Time for everything

Hi and welcome :0) This is a page in my smaller 6"x8" (cca 15x20 cm) art journal from Hahnemühle.

This page was highly inspired by Nuneka. I was in love with the stripy page she made and it's colour combination so I needed to create my own version :0)

I masked some stripes on my page with a masking tape and painted the rest with blue shades of Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays. Than I added a texture with stencil and texture paste. I printed a photo as my focal point and framed it with the circle. The inner circle was stamped with a stencil sprayed with orange Starburst spray and coloured with Distress Spiced marmalade ink. I finished the design with greenery die-cuts coloured with the same Lindy's colours and also darkened with Distress Mermaid lagoon ink.

Thank you for your visit and have a nice relaxing day :0)

Tag - From the artist's point of view

Hi and welcome :0) Here is another Nr. 10 manila tag (ca 21,5 x 10 cm).

Last week I played with a Dina Wakley's Media Gloss Sprays. I made a few backgrounds and this is a first finished tag.

I stamped a Tim Holtz's Bubbles stamp with a Versamark ink and heat embossed it with a Silver pearl embossing powder from Wow!. I added a piece of light brown lace and my focal images from Whimsy Stamps coloured with the Zig Clean color real brush markers.

Thank you for stopping by and see you next time :0)

Tag - Eternal beauty - faux leather technique

Hi and welcome :0) Today I have a new Nr. 10 manila tag (ca 21,5 x 10 cm) with faux leather look.

I used a nice 3D embossing folder with Peonies from Lisa Horton Crafts and painted the whole tag - an debossed side - with a Vintage Photo Distress paint. Then I rubbed a Ground Espresso Tim Holtz's archival inkpad  over the whole surface to reveal the design. The deepest parts remained lightest and upper parts are darkest. Finally I sealed and enhanced the leather look with Distress MicroGlaze. In the reality the paper looks fantastic - like a real leather.

I was thrilled with the outcome so I did not want to cover it much, so I finished the design only with a few smaller butterfly stickers and a quote (and - because nothing is perfect and we should embrace the imperfections - with a small mistake too) :0)

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Pleasure of art

Hi and welcome again :0). Today's page has ca 9.5"x 8.5"  (cca 24 x 21 cm).

I am enchanted with the new Lisa Horton Crafts 3D embossing folders - Visteria, Gears and Pipework. I wanted to combine them on one page and I am very satisfied with the outcome :0) I used Peacock feathers and few other blue-green Distress inks and also brown Distress inks to achieve the final colours I like. I enhanced the details with Finnabair's Gold wax. I loved the page as it was, but I decided to add three observers as a "visitors in the gallery" (Katzelkraft) :0)

Please feel free to leave me a comment, thank you for your visit, enjoy the rest of the week and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Relax

Hi and welcome :0) Here is a new page in my smaller 6"x8" (cca 15x20 cm) art journal from Hahnemühle. It is my entry for the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge "No patterned paper".

For my background I combined yellow, orange and green Distress ink colors spritzed with water and applied with a plastic foil. I added brown Distress colors through a stripes stencil and also some splashes with a brush. The letters are Tim Holtz's Varsity alphabet die and coloured them with the same brown inks and darker brown marker. I used different water-based markers to colour my focal images.

Thank you for your visit and have a nice relaxing day :0)

Art journal page - Imagination

Hi and welcome again :0). Today's double-sided page is 6.5"x 6.5"  (ca. 16,5 x 16,5 cm) and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge Make your mark.

I created both backgrounds with the help of the big blot stencil and Saltwater taffy, Salvaged patina and Uncharted mariner Distress inks. I also used mix of black inks and Kuretake's Gansai Tambi White gold pigment colour diluted with water which I splashed with the small brush as stars. With the black acrylic marker I blocked shapes of the colours from my background to create the final design.

Then I added my focal images coloured with alcohol markers and water-based markers.

Thank you for stopping by, have a nice week and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - We all have DREAMS

Hi and welcome back :0). Today's 8"x 8"  (ca. 20 x 20 cm) art journal page is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge Add texture

I played with Visible Image's tiger and cats stamps. For the background I used Lost shadow, Hickory smoke and Black soot Distress inks and I stamped my images with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. This oil  based ink is beautifully intensive and black. I coloured the cats with Karin Brushmarkers PRO. For the eyes and splatters I used Kuretake's Gansai Tambi Yellow gold pigment colour. This pigment watercolors have a lot of mica in it and they are really shiny. They also have so thick consistency that you can feel them under the fingers, when you touch the page. Finally I added some texture with a small notches around the sides of the inner page.

Thank you for stopping by, have a nice Sunday and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Ghost ship

Hi and welcome :0) Today's page has ca 8"x 5" (cca 20 x 14 cm) and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Add Texture".

I created background texture with an embossing folder and I played with Distress Spray Stains and Distress Oxide sprays - Broken China and Speckled Egg. To enhance the texture I used brown Distress and archival inks. I cut a ship window and an anchor from Tim Holtz's silver Metallic kraft-stock, scratched it with a sand paper and coloured with different brown inks and black acrylic pen.

Rest of my images I coloured with Tim Holtz's Distress watercolor pencils and Distress inks and black and white acrylic pens. The lovely ghost stamp is from Sweet November Stamps as well as the floor stamp. The background tree design is a very nice new Hero Arts stamp.

Thank you for your visit and see you soon :0)

Wish card

Hi :0) Today I have one bigger wish card I created recently.

I used three of Tim Holtz's Colorize dies - Gertrude, Winifred and  Gladys and also a cute bunny die. I combined them with clover dies from my stash and a background made with distress inks and an older leaves stencil.

Thank you for your visit , have a nice Saturday and see you next time :0)

Dylusions art journal - Smile

Hi and welcome back :0) This page is in Dylusions classic ca. 8"x11" (cca 20 x 28 cm) journal again.

I sprayed my background with Funky Fuchsia and Laidback Lilac Dylusion sprays and then with water through Marianne Designs constellation stencil. I found one of Dylusions heads and some legs and combined them with older bottle stamps and Tim Holtz's wings. Finally I added Stamperia Moon and Dylusions quote. Border is from Paper Artsy and key an older stamp from my stash. I colored the images with Dylusions Sprays in water brushes and Zig Clean color real brush markers and white and black acrylic markers.

Thank you for your visit, have a nice Saturday and see you next time :0)

Dylusions art journal - Laid-backers

Hi and welcome :0) This page is in the 8"x8" (ca 21x21 cm) Dylusions journal.

All the stamps I used for this page are from Lesia Zgharda Stamps - leaf, foxes and hares and also the circles (base for the picture of a record). I like these stamps a lot - I think that for the first time I used the stamps immediately I've receive them :0) First I've created main image and than a background "over it". Background was created with blots of gray colours (with the help of a plastic foil and water sprayer) and Tim Holtz's old alphabet stencil. I masked the pictures to protect them during the process. I coloured everything with Zig Clean color real brush markers and black and white acrylic markers.

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Hi and welcome :0) I have another page in my Dylusions classic ca. 8"x11" (cca 20 x 28 cm) journal and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Anything Goes.

I used Dylusions dy-cuts again, some text stamps, hibiscus stamp from Gina K., cats from AALL & Create, puzzle stencil from Ciao Bella and some puzzle die. I coloured the background with Dylusions shimmer paints and my images with black acrylic paint and Dylusions ink sprays - always in a combination of Pure sunshine, Fresh lime and Blue lagoon (with a small addition of Dirty martini and Tangerine dream). For the big circle I dry-embossed pearly white velum from my stash.

Thank you for your visit, have a nice Sunday and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Hele, kaktus!

Hi and welcome :0) Today's page is about 5.5" x 7.5" (cca 14 x 18.5 cm).

I was inspired by the joke. It's Czech variation. In English it would be: Two balloons are floating across the desert. One balloon says to the other: "Be careful, there's a cactusssssssss...."

I have a dragon (who is warning) and only one balloon (in danger) and the joke still works ,0) At least in czech language :D (It would be like this: Dragon says: "Look out for the cactus!" And balloon says: "Where do you see itttttttttt....".)

I used an embossed background created with Tim Holtz's Mosaic 3D folder with red Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Sprays, Distress Resist spray and brown Distress crayons. Cactus images are from Ciao Bella and dragon from Whimsy stamps. I coloured everything with Faber-Castell Pitt brush pens and black and white acrylic pens. Finally I added black cardstock embossed with Tattered Lace typewriter text folder.

Anyway, I like this page a lot and it made also my husband smile ,0))

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - What is it?

Hi and welcome back :0) Today's page is about 6" x 8.5" (cca 15 x 21.5 cm) size and it is a Canson Mix Media 224 gsm paper.

For my background I used Dylusions sprays and light bulbs stencil from Carabelle studio. The whimsical dragons from Whimsy Stamps are coloured with Karin brush pro markers. Although I need to say, that this is not the best paper for the colouring with such a juicy watercolour markers. If the paper is too wet, it peels off. But at least I know it now ,0) I also used some alcohol markers, acrylic paint and even coloured pencils for the light bulb.

I like the idea and of this page and I am very pleased with the final outcome :0)

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Build a dream

Hi and welcome :0) My first page of 2023 is a 6"x8" (cca 15x20 cm) size.

For my background I found in my stash some new Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals powders (Apothecary Azure, Petticoat Plum and Dragonfly Denim) and Hero arts stamps with Asian patterns. I stamped with Hero Arts white pigment ink and I was surprised how nicely visible the stamps are even when I added a second layer of the powders and water on top. The background looks subtle and nicely "dreamy". I embossed the parasols background stamp with white embossing powder, cut-out the hexagons and coloured them with black Dylusions shimmer spray. For the edges I used brown Distress archival ink. Finally I added my focal image and quotes.

This page is also my entry for Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge "Someting New".

Thank you for your visit, have a nice day and happy, beautiful and relaxing year 2023 to you :0)

Art journal page - To the MOON

Hi and welcome :0). Today's 6.5"x 6.5"  (ca. 16,5 x 16,5 cm) art journal page is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Anything goes

I played a lot with the background. I chose Distress brown ink pads for my final colour and added a stencil pattern with Finnabair's clear gel. I created the moon with yellow Distress Mica stains and a white Dylusions Shimmer spray. Green and brown Distress Mica stains I used also to colour my images. I combined them with Candided apple, Aged mahogany, Antique linen and Forrest most Distress inks.

BTW would you believe that the background was originally violet? ,0)

Thank you for stopping by, have a nice Sunday and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - First snowflakes

Hi and welcome back :0). This is a another 6.5"x 6.5"  (ca. 16,5 x 16,5 cm) art journal page, an entry for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Stencil it and also for bastel-traum.ch challenge #119 Schneeflocken | Snoflakes (#btchallenge119).

For my background I chose blue Distress Spray stains with a silver shimmer spray and stenciled a Tim Holtz's Snowflakes over it with a Stamperia Sparkling white Glamour paste. Then I cut out some snowflake dies - each of them twice from 300 gsm white paper and once from silvery sparkling cardstock very similar to the paste. The shimmer is subtle but very nice in the real life. I glued all three layers together to get a better dimension for my focal images which I coloured with ZIG Clean color brushes pens. I like a lot how detailed are brushes of these markers so I can coloured easily even small images and parts of them. And although they are very juicy, they did not destroy the Bristol paper I used. I also added a black carstock layer under the dinosaurs to make them more visible and used black acrylic pen to re-defined all the stamped lines (they always fade a bit after colouring).

I'm so happy how this page turned out :0)

Thank you for stopping by and have a nice weekend and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Thankful for the moonlight

Hi and welcome :0). This is a new 6.5"x 6.5"  (ca. 16,5 x 16,5 cm) art journal page, an entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge Thanks/Thanksgiving.

For the background I chose blue Distress Spray stains with a silver shimmer accents and embossed it with SSS Pumpkin patch embossing folder. It is a beautiful pattern. I found nice older leaves die in my stash and cut them out of the yellow-orange-brown colored paper I made. For the city I painted Dylusions black shimmer paint over the black cardstock, cut the shapes out and combine them to create nice cluster of roofs and buildings. Finally I colored the moon with antique linen and mustard seed Distress inks and white Dylusions shimmer spray.

I love this page, especially how vibrant are the orange yellow colours against the blue background :D

Thank you for your visit and have a nice day :0)

Art journal page - Don't let your idea disappear

Hi and welcome. This is a new page in my 7" (ca. 17,8 cm) Arteza round art journal :0)

This page is an entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge "Art Journal".

I played a lot with colours this time. Because it is a waterolour paper it holds a lot of water and I used this ability a lot before I found the colour combination I like ,0)

I stamped Dina Wakley's tags with black archival ink and I overstamped everything with  Tim Holtz's stamp in different blue shades. Then I took a brush and coloured the tags with blue Distress Spray Stains and framed them with black Dylusions Shimmer spray. For my background I used Victorian Velvet Distress Spray Stain, but I was not satisfied with this colour combo. That's why I overpainted the tags with yellow Distress Stain to create a green shade and the background with black Shimmer spray. For the focal images - a light bulb from Katzelkraft and a bird from Prima marketing - I chose different yellow Spray Stains with a little bit of Victorian Velvet for the shadows. Finally I added some green gems and enhanced every image with a black acrylic pen.

The page turned out a lot different than I expected, but I still like the outcome :0)

Thank you for your visit and have a very nice weekend :0)

Art journal page - Destiny

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I have a bigger page - 8"x10" (ca 21 x 25 cm).

For this page I combined Stampscapes stamps with randomly picked stamps from my stash e.g IndigoBlu unicorn (the second unicorn was created with mirror-stamping technique on the gel plate). I used Distress oxide colours for my background and Distress inks to color my images. I enhanced the details and lines with black Ohuhu Water-based marker and black and white acrylic paint pens. For my main focal points I've chosen Carabelle studio girl stamp and also texture plate with the beautiful astrological circle.

Thank you for your visit and have a great creative time :0)

Art journal page - The choice

Hi and welcome. This is a new page in my 7" (ca. 17,8 cm) round art journal :0)

I was inspired by the chemistry bottle and frog stamps from Inkadinkado I have in my stash for ages and I decided to create a rainbow playful page as my entry for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Little critters". I gave some difficult choice to my little frog :0)

For the brown colours I used Twinklings H2O mica watercolours and for the bottles Distress Spray stains applied with a brush and Ohuhu Water-based markers in the similar shades. I die-cuted my quote with Tim Holtz tiny typewriter font.  Finally I added some highlights with white acrylic paint pen and enhanced all the lines with black acrylic paint pen.

I'm very happy with the outcome :0)

Thank you that you've stopped by and have a very nice day :0)

Art journal page - Boo and welcome

Hi and welcome :0) Today I would like to show you a new page in my Canson Mix Media middle art book - 17 x 25 cm (cca 6.5" x 10").

This page is an entry for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Stamp it".

This page is about an idea of one friendly night visit - a little bit interactive page. I created my background with Distress Oxide inks and a moon mask from Tim Holtz. Than I stamped a tree and a grass and stenciled the bats with very dark black Versafine Claire ink. But later I also traced all these images with black acrylic pen, so they ended up much darker.

I used some patterned papers and dies from my stash to create a house, a path and a door (I embossed them with Tim Holtz 3D embossing folders lumber and cobblestone) and stamped my monster's friends, an eyeball and a pumpkin with Gina K. amalgam obsidian ink. I coloured them with Ohuhu water based markers and Seedless preserves distress ink applied with a brush. This ink I also used to create my wallpaper in the house - I darkened light violet paper with Seedless preserves distress ink and stamped with the same ink a damask background stamp on it. The result is very nice.

Finally I added some lights with a white gel pen, shadows with the markers and I darkened again every stamped line and every single edge of my die cuts with the black acrylic pen so they stand out nicely against the darker background.

I'm happy with this page and I although I spent a few nights with this page I don't regret the time :0)

Thank you a lot for your visit, have a nice day and see you next time :0)
